Sandy II Residence
Who said you had to build a new house or remodel your current house to get a new look? I love being able to go into someone's house and help them express their personality and improve the functionality of their space. Here we have a wonderful family that needed a living room that would be conducive for family activities and still look beautiful. We also had the challenge of including an office into the main living space. Organization was key. I was able to create a seating area, entry storage, and an office all within a small space by using rugs and furniture layouts to give the feeling of separation. By keeping line of sight open and adding lots of light we made the space feel larger . To help with functionality we added baskets and storage ottomans to hide unwanted clutter. And who doesn't love a family command center right where it is needed? The beauty of this design is that the family already had most of the pieces. With just a couple shelves to flank the desk, a new accent chair and lamp to connect the color scheme, and a rug to add pattern and ground the sitting area, we really transformed the space.
