This company specializes in "Smart Design", our philosophy to provide clients and builders organized, thorough, and individualized designs with fully detailed design documents. Projects range from design-only consultation to full-service design, construction, or furniture projects with project documents, install, and styling.
Job Description: SBD is looking for a design intern and office assistant that is eager to break into the design industry and get hands-on experience in many aspects of a small business We are looking for motivated individuals with at least some formal education in design/construction/ business or equivalent experience in the workforce. New hires will begin by shadowing designers and working around the office but could eventually take on construction site visits, sample procurement, client meetings, project document creation, purchasing, marketing, and installation based on their skill level and willingness to hustle. This part-time position allows for flexible hours Monday-Friday. Hourly pay will be based on experience and education.
Applicant Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of college education or strong work experience (design/construction/business preferred) - Start part time - potential advancement to full time and job promotions - Top skills required: passionate, teachable, self-motivated, punctual, and organized - Communication skills required: active listening, willing to ask questions, and detailed note taking - Hard working and efficient - always looking for ways to lend a hand - Software Knowledge: Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel are a must - Bonus Skills (not required): Photography, Marketing, Social Media, AutoCad Drafting
